Why it's worth doing
There's a real difference between sending someone to app.coterie.rsvp/app/your-community and sending them to community.yourbrand.com. One says "I'm using a tool." The other says "this is mine." For creators building a serious community around their brand, a custom domain is what makes the whole thing feel native instead of borrowed.
What it does
A custom domain maps your own domain (or subdomain) straight to your Coterie — your members and applicants never see coterie.rsvp at all once it's set up. Everything else about the platform works exactly the same underneath; this is purely about the address your community lives at.
Setting one up
Choose your domain or subdomain
Decide what you want members to type — a root domain or a subdomain like community.yourbrand.com.
Point your DNS
From your admin dashboard's domain settings, you'll get the records to add at your DNS provider.
Verify
Once your DNS change propagates, your domain gets verified and starts serving your Coterie directly.
DNS changes can take time to propagate depending on your provider — don't worry if it's not instant.
Pair it with branding
A custom domain on its own is a URL change. A custom domain paired with your logo and colors is a fully white-labeled community — worth doing both together if you're going to do either.
