Joining a Coterie
How to find, apply to, and get accepted into a Coterie.
Find the right one
Every Coterie is built around a niche and a standard, set by whoever created it. That's the point — you're not joining another open social feed or noisy group chat. You're joining a curated professional circle built around a shared area of work or interest. Find one two ways:
- Discover — browse public Coteries from inside the app and apply to the ones that fit.
- A direct invite — a creator or existing member shares their community's page with you directly, something like
coterie.rsvp/c/their-community.
Apply
Every Coterie has a public apply page at coterie.rsvp/c/:slug. You'll give your name and email, and answer whatever questions the creator's added — these usually cover what you post, how often, and what you're hoping to get out of the group. Take them seriously: they're often the only signal the admin has before deciding whether you're a fit.
Some communities auto-approve applications for instant access. Others are reviewed by an admin — approval time depends entirely on them, not on Coterie.
Get approved and set up
Wait for approval
If the community isn't auto-approve, the admin reviews your application against their standard. You'll get an invite by email once you're in.
Create your account
Sign up at app.coterie.rsvp using the same email you applied with — password, Google, or GitHub.
Complete onboarding
Pick your niche and accept the community's rules. Your niche is what determines whose work Coterie is most likely to surface to you going forward, so pick the one that actually describes what you do.
Once you're through onboarding, you land on your dashboard — your contribution, tier, reliability score, and the next open party are all right there. From here, the next step is submitting your first post.
