How Matching Works

The short version

When a party moves into grouping, Coterie automatically matches you with a set of other members' posts to review, matched primarily within your niche — the industry or content category you picked when you joined.

Why niche, and not random

Random matching is what makes generic engagement pods feel useless — you end up reviewing things you don't understand. Niche matching keeps your matches relevant to what you actually know.

What about competitors?

Some communities turn on competition-exclusion, which keeps direct competitors out of each other's review pool even within the same niche. Whether this is on depends on your Coterie's settings — ask your admin if you're not sure.
