1. Agreement to terms

These Terms govern your access to and use of Coterie, operated by Coterie Limited, a company registered in New Zealand — including our website at coterie.rsvp, the product at app.coterie.rsvp, and any Coterie community hosted on a creator’s own domain. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.

2. Using our service

You must be at least 18 years old to use Coterie. You’re responsible for your account, for keeping your credentials secure, and for all activity that happens under your account. Let us know immediately at hello@coterie.rsvp if you suspect unauthorised access.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the service — including attempting to access another user’s account or another Coterie’s data without authorisation, disrupting the service, or using it to break the law or infringe on others’ rights. If you’re a member of a Coterie community, you also agree to follow that community’s own rules as set by its owner. We, or a Coterie owner within their own community, may suspend or remove accounts that violate these terms.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of the content you post — your applications, posts, comments, and uploads. By posting it, you grant Coterie a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, store, and display that content as needed to run the service, for example showing your post to other members of your circle. We don’t claim ownership of your content, and we don’t sell it.

5. Payment and plans

Some features require a paid plan, for the platform itself or for a Coterie owner’s own paid membership tiers. Payments are processed by Stripe. Fees are described at the time of purchase and, unless stated otherwise, are non-refundable. We may change pricing with reasonable notice; changes take effect on your next billing cycle.

6. Availability and changes

We work to keep the service available but don’t guarantee uninterrupted access, and we’re not liable for outages, scheduled maintenance, or events outside our reasonable control. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We’ll give notice of material changes where we reasonably can.

7. Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided “as is”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Coterie Limited isn’t liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these Terms excludes any right you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 that cannot lawfully be excluded.

8. Termination

You can delete your account, or a Coterie owner can delete their whole community, at any time from within the product. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms. These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, and you submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Zealand for any dispute arising from these Terms.
